Lockdown lifted in Dubai

In Dubai, all bans on free movement have been lifted between 6 am and 10 pm. Quarantine is still in effect at night. All shopping malls, markets and retail stores have been allowed to reopen. Restaurants and cafes can again receive visitors; however, strict social distancing rules are still in place. Public transport resumed its work (so far, only the metro and buses). All mosques and other places of worship as well as beaches, tourist attractions and cultural sites remain closed.

All visa centres have reopened since April 26. People who would like to apply for or renew their resident visas will be able to do that again, although the UAE government has also previously announced that all expired resident visas will automatically be extended until December 31, 2020. A medical examination has been waived for the renewal of already expired visas for the time being. Visa renewal can be done remotely following payment of the applicable fees.

Office workers from the private sector also partially resumed their work – 30% of employees are now allowed to return to work, while the rest will continue working from home, whenever possible.
