Dubai Multi Commodities Centre

Six times crowned “Global Free Zone of the Year” by the Financial Times’ fDi magazine (last time in October 2020), DMCC has everything to satisfy the highest business demands. Established in 2002 as a strategic initiative of the government of Dubai as a hub for global commodities trade, DMCC operated as the world’s leading physical gold market at first, with 40% of the world’s trade in the metal passing through the emirate. As a commodity trading hub, this free zone also claimed a 60% share of the tea re-exporting market. Dubai Diamond Exchange with over 1000 domestic and international precious stones companies is located here as well.

However, the zone is not solely about commodities trading – situated in the heart of Dubai, it is also home to over 90,000 people who have moved to work and live there since its opening in 2002.

Located in the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates, DMCC is home to nearly 15,000 companies with further 200 joining every month. Over 95% of its new members are also new to Dubai, welcomed to the free zone with state-of-the-art offices and a wide range of facilities to help them set up and start trading as quickly as possible.

The DMCC service centre offers an array of services, including licence registration, visa application, banking and insurance services. The zone is in the process of a major expansion of its Burj 2020 District, which is home to the world’s tallest commercial building – Burj 2020. The expansion will add approximately 1.3 million square metres of capacity to the zone – a mix of commercial, retail and hotel facilities.
